Republican Hypocrisy in Healthcare Rollout
They danced to a different tune when the Bush Administration did the same thing:

Public Beats Private Every Time
I'm not sure I agree with the "every time" claim, but the guy makes some good points:

Was Jesus Invented to Quell Rebellion?
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/story-of-jesus-christ-was-fabricated-to-pacify-the-poor-claims-controversial-biblical-scholar-8870879.html
Ironically, many atheists dismiss this claim as little more than yet another unfounded conspiracy theory:

Understanding the Republican Mindset
This is a truly fascinating study conducted on the three main factions of the GOP to help people understand why they do what they do:

For a shorter summary, see:

It's amazing how radically different they are. After reading what the Teabaggers and Evangelicals have to say, I almost want to hug the moderates!

US Healthcare Spending
US costs are out of control and for no benefit relative to other nations:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/03/health-care-costs-_n_3998425.html
I heard that 11-14% (if I recall correctly) of citizens will have their health care rates increase under the ACA, and I figured I'd fall into that category since I buy my own insurance. I'm willing to spend somewhat more to help ensure everyone is covered...but it looks like my rates will increase 102% just to get the same coverage I had before. Yikes.
Really, single payer is the only way to go.
